A feisty cat fight will be fought as Bishop Snyder Cardinals take on Ridgeview Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Bishop Snyder is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.
Bishop Snyder made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Trinity Christian Academy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Bishop Snyder put the hurt on Trinity Christian Academy with a sharp 8-2 win on Thursday. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

Chloe Gotto and Caitlyn Boshell were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Gotto didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Boshell pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Gotto has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Gotto went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and one double, while Boshell went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Those six RBI gave Gotto a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Juliana Roldan, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lola Aberly, who scored three runs while going 1-for-3.
Bishop Snyder hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Trinity Christian Academy struck out eight times.
Meanwhile, Ridgeview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 12-2 to Baker County.
Ridgeview saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Kirk, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Meilani McNab also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Bishop Snyder's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Ridgeview, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.
Ridgeview's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Bishop Snyder has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Ridgeview, though, as they've been averaging only 3.6 strikeouts. Will Bishop Snyder keep running through batters, or will Ridgeview buck the trend?
Bishop Snyder suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Ridgeview in their previous matchup back in February of 2016. Can Bishop Snyder avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
