Softball Recap: Cane Bay Gets the Win

Cane Bay had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Goose Creek on Wednesday. Cane Bay's pitchers stepped up to hand Goose Creek a 15-0 shutout. The Cobras not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 28th.

Isabella Kelly looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alley Bertram, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Kayleigh Christmas also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Cane Bay always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .593. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Goose Creek only posted an OBP of .091.

Cane Bay now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Goose Creek, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cane Bay will host Stratford at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Goose Creek, they will welcome Timberland at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
