The Beaver Dam Diamondback will head out to face off against the Laughlin Cougars at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Thursday, Beaver Dam made easy work of Fredonia and carried off a 21-6 victory. With that win, the Diamondback brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.

Wyett Avila and Anthony Hermosillo did most of the damage at the plate: Avila went 3-for-4 with six RBI, two stolen bases, and two runs, while Hermosillo went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Avila has become a key player for Beaver Dam: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three RBI, but 2-10 otherwise. Aaron Huerta also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Beaver Dam was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Laughlin hadn't done well against Indian Springs recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Cougars' pitcher stepped up to hand the Thunderbirds a 17-0 shutout. Considering the Cougars have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Anthony Brookins made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Brookins was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times he's played.
In other batting news, Laughlin got a massive performance out of Bobby DeBoard, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI and one double. Those five RBI gave DeBoard a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gavin Davis, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.
Laughlin pushed their record up to 12-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Beaver Dam, their record now sits at 4-11.
Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Beaver Dam has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .486. However, it's not like Laughlin struggles in that department as they've averaged .638. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Beaver Dam might still be hurting after the 19-9 defeat they got from Laughlin in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Diamondback avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
