The Bowie Bulldogs waltzed into their game on Thursday with three straight wins but they left with four. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 59-57 win over Flowers. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Julian King was the offensive standout of the matchup as he scored 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ashenafi Stuart, who scored 13 points.
Bowie's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points per game. As for Flowers, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-4.
Bowie won't have much time to rest: their next game is against DuVal at 7:15 p.m. on January 19th. One thing working in DuVal's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests. As for Flowers, they will be playing at home against Bladensburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
