Moreno Valley is 0-3 against Liberty since March of 2024 but things could change on Tuesday. The Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bison at 5:00 p.m. The last three games Moreno Valley has played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Last Thursday, Moreno Valley didn't have quite enough to beat Hemet and fell 3-2.
Moreno Valley started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 19-25, 25-19, 26-24, 15-12.
Meanwhile, Liberty had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 3-1.
While Liberty might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Paloma Valley scored at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-20, 18-25, 25-23.
Liberty's win came from a few key players Moreno Valley will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Tyler Guardado, who had ten digs and four blocks. What's more, he posted three kills, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Damian Cabrera, who had nine digs and two aces.
Liberty was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in three consecutive games.
Moreno Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Liberty, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-9.
