The Marion Center Stingers lost against the United Lions back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Marion Center took a 55-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of United. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Marion Center in their matchups with United: they've now lost nine in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Marion Center lost, one person who can't be blamed is Evan Risinger. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Kamden Rozier, who scored nine points.
Marion Center's loss was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-3. As for United, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marion Center will take on Purchase Line at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Purchase Line focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Wednesday. As for United, they will head out on the road to face off against Cambria Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cambria Heights will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 606th, while United is ranked 239th).
