The Bainbridge Bearcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Monroe by a score of 43-40. Bainbridge has not had much luck with Monroe recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Bainbridge lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kyra Green. Despite the final result, she scored nine points along with six rebounds. Ahleah Jones was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Bainbridge bumped their record down to 2-6 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Monroe, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bainbridge's road trip will continue as they head out to face Seminole County at 6:00 p.m. on December 16th. Hopefully Seminole County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday. As for Monroe, they will head out on the road to face off against Sumter County at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Sumter County is ranked 147th, while Monroe is ranked 125th).
