The Ferguson Falcons can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent game on Thursday. They blew past South Miami 77-55. Given Ferguson's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while the Cobras are ranked 574th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Jordan Gonzalez, who scored 27 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Ferguson's points. Another player making a difference was Brandon Vazquez, who scored 17 points.
Ferguson's victory bumped their record up to 13-11. As for South Miami, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-15.
Ferguson will square off against the Cavaliers at TBD on Tuesday. Hopefully Coral Gables focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Tuesday. South Miami's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Bulls at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Northwestern has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 467 points over their last seven matches.
