Apollo has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Kellis Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Apollo's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six games.
Last Tuesday, Apollo didn't have too much trouble with Youngker at home as they won 64-47.
Jordan Moreno was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Elijah White, who scored nine points along with eight steals and six assists.
Meanwhile, Kellis was beaten by Centennial 72-36 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Kellis can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 211th, while Centennial is ranked 70th).
Apollo's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Kellis, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
Things could have been worse for Apollo, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 66-51 loss to Kellis when the teams last played back in January. Can Apollo avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
