Fort Lupton is a perfect 10-0 against Arvada since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Bluedevils will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. Fort Lupton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.5 runs per game this season.
Fort Lupton made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Englewood, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bluedevils put the hurt on the Pirates with a sharp 12-6 victory on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bluedevils considering their two-run performance the matchup before.
Javier Ortiz made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of Fort Lupton's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 2-1 (and 4-6 when he doesn't). Ortiz was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

In other batting news, Jesse Ceretto was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Fort Lupton is 3-1 when Ceretto posts two or more runs, but 3-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Julian Arreguin, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-5.
Fort Lupton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Arvada's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They lost 14-4 to Bennett.
Cameron Henderson was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last four times he's played.
Fort Lupton's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Arvada, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
Wednesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Fort Lupton has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .491. However, it's not like Arvada struggles in that department as they've averaged .515. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
