The Bethesda Christian Patriots had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past Indiana School for the Deaf, posting a 54-18 win on the road. Given Bethesda Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Deaf Hoosiers are ranked 276th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kenzie Fulks was her usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with eight steals and six assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Bethesda Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Leah Heim, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Bethesda Christian is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. As for Indiana School for the Deaf, their loss dropped their record down to 14-8.
Bethesda Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Knights at 7:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Indiana School for the Deaf does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
