Basketball Recap: Heritage Christian Extends Winning Streak to Two

If Calumet Christian wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Heritage Christian, they should've done a better job of containing Andrew Regnerus. The Heritage Christian Defenders put the hurt on the Calumet Christian Patriots with a sharp 64-43 win on Saturday thanks in part to Regnerus, who almost dropped a double-double with 28 points and nine boards. His morning made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points.

When it comes to explaining why Calumet Christian lost, don't look at Isaiah Kish. Despite the final result, he posted 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. Those 16 points gave Kish a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kolton Foutz, who had seven points along with seven boards and five blocks.

The victory made it two in a row for Heritage Christian and bumps their season record up to 17-8. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.5 points. As for Calumet Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-20.

Heritage Christian has already played their next contest (against Kankakee Trinity Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Calumet Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-49 win against Tournament Opponent on the 22nd.
