Baseball Recap: Apex Friendship Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Apex Friendship entered their tilt with Green Level on Friday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They blew past the Gators 10-2. Considering the Patriots have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Owen Cirasole made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since April 2nd.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ajay Rychcik, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Connor Payne, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Apex Friendship was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Green Level only posted a batting average of .000.

Apex Friendship's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Green Level, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 14 of their last 15 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season.

Apex Friendship wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-0 victory against Panther Creek on the 28th. As for Green Level, they have also already played their next contest, a 4-3 defeat against Holly Springs on the 28th.
