The Flint Hill Huskies waltzed into Saturday's contest with five straight wins but they left with six. They put the hurt on St. James with a sharp 27-7 win. The result was nothing new for Flint Hill, who have now won six matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.
Leading Flint Hill to victory were Bryce Stewart and Andrew King. Stewart gained 134 total yards and two touchdowns, while King rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. King was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 54 yards. Victor McNeal got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
The team's defense also helped out by holding St. James to a paltry 189 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Flint Hill's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid the passer out five times before it was all said and done. Cole Clark was especially locked on to St. James' QB and sacked him twice.
Flint Hill's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. As for St. James, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Flint Hill will head out on the road to face off against Trinity Episcopal at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Trinity Episcopal will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last. St. James does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
