The Northern Huskies's game last Monday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They walked away with a 49-38 win over Bishop Walsh. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Northern also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Northern found their leader in underclassman Abby Nelson, who scored 27 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nelson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Marisa Perez, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Northern's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Bishop Walsh, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northern will take on Rockwood at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Rockwood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 446th in Pennsylvania, while Northern is ranked 152nd in Maryland). As for Bishop Walsh, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northern at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
