South Point (Belmont, N.C.) defeat
Kings Mountain (N.C.) 49-21 after a strong game from
Tyier Bray, who rushed for four touchdowns.
After taking the lead on a Bray touchdown run in the first quarter, the Red Raiders led 28-13 at the half.
South Point expanded its lead to 22 points entering the fourth quarter. SP's lone score in the quarter came on a touchdown run by Bray.
Devan Robbins and Bray ran for a bunch of touchdowns for the Mountaineers.
Kings Mountain's
Trevin Torres was the standout player for his team. The senior wide receiver caught one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to three on the year.
When the two teams played each other last season, the Belmont school came away with a 45-9 victory.
The loss comes after Kings Mountain defeated Alexander Central 55-33 last week.
In a non-conference game next week Kings Mountain (2-3) takes on Shelby, and South Point (5-0) will go up against Huss in a 3A Big South game.
