The Mayer Wildcats suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 78-25 loss at the hands of North Valley Christian Academy. Mayer has struggled against North Valley Christian Academy recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Earl Williams was Mayer's leading scorer, having posted 13 points.
Easton Garcia held things down on the boards with six rebounds.
North Valley Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Braiden Homer out in front who scored 13 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Homer has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bobby Rodriguez, who scored 12 points along with five assists.
Mayer dropped their record down to 3-12 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road. As for North Valley Christian Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-8.
Mayer will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Music Mountain at 6:00 p.m. Music Mountain is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. North Valley Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Antelope at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Antelope is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
