The Humboldt Cubs can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They claimed a resounding 53-26 win over St. Paul at home. Given Humboldt's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while St. Paul is ranked 351st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Colden Cook continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Hull, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Humboldt pushed their record up to 11-2 with that win, which was their 13th straight at home. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.85 points. As for St. Paul, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Humboldt will take on Erie at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Paul, St. Paul and Oswego will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Oswego is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
