Solorio is 2-8 against Simeon since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Sun Warriors will head out on the road to challenge the Wolverines at 4:30 p.m. Simeon took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Solorio, who comes in off a win.
Solorio came out on top against Chicago Washington on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run second inning. The Sun Warriors walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Patriots. Five seems to be a good number for the Sun Warriors as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Solorio got a great performance from Tony Bautista as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Bautista is becoming a predictor of the Sun Warriors' success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 2-1 (and 3-7 when he doesn't).
On the hitting side, Sebastian Davila-Adames and Josiah Saucedo did most of the damage at the plate: Davila-Adames went 1-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double, while Saucedo went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Solorio is undefeated when Saucedo posts two or more runs, but 2-8 otherwise. Jaydiel Salgado was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Simeon and Whitney Young, and Whitney Young kept the tradition alive. The Wolverines fell just short of the Dolphins by a score of 5-3 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wolverines have suffered against the Dolphins since April 13, 2016.
Simeon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryce Jones, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one RBI. Daniel Jones Jr also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
The victory made it two in a row for Solorio and bumps their season record up to 5-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Simeon, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Solorio has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Simeon struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Solorio might still be hurting after the 12-4 loss they got from Simeon when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Sun Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
