It was a good run, but the Governor Livingston Highlanders unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 52-40 to Millburn. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Governor Livingston has scored all season.
Millburn was led to victory by Chase Plotkin and Noah Ravitz. Plotkin went 7 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 1 assists, while Ravitz scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The match was Ravitz's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Benmorits, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Governor Livingston's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-1. As for Millburn, their win bumped their record up to an identical 4-1.
Governor Livingston will finish 2023 at home by hosting Mountain Lakes on Thursday. Mountain Lakes will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 380th, while Governor Livingston is ranked 71st). Millburn will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Summit at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Summit will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
