If the Scappoose Indians were riding high off their 76-51 takedown of the Tillamook Cheesemakers last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Scappoose suffered a rough 66-42 defeat at the hands of Astoria on Tuesday. Scappoose was down 55-33 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Several Indians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Drew Butler, who scored eight points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinton Olson, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Scappoose's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Astoria, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-4.
Scappoose didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-41 win vs. St. Helens on the 9th. Astoria has also already played their next matchup, a 73-65 win against Tillamook on the 9th.
