Gordonsville extended the longest winning streak in A District 7 this week by beating Clay County, 57-18. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Tigers.
Trousdale County made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,806 from 6,533. The improvement came about via a 28-0 victory over Watertown last week.
Jackson County's dynamic duo of Jarred Medlin and Mason Jones proved tough for Pickett County to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Medlin threw for 46 yards and one touchdown and Jones had 30 yards receiving. Zachary Bowman helped Jackson County's passing attack out by catching one ball for 29 yards.
Kaelin Cason was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 157 yards on 10 carries as Gordonsville defeated the Bobcats. Teammate Billy Newton added to the ground attack by rushing for 145 yards.
Friendship Christian's AJ Long and Stefan Remus have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Long has thrown for 1618 yards this season, while Remus has 16 catches for 481 yards. Ron Marshall's team's Cason leads the league in rushing yards with 1447.
