The biggest upset of the week belonged to Northampton/Smith Vo-Tech, who took down 86th ranked Northampton/Smith Vo-Tech, 21-7.
Juwan Williams and Tejano Smith provided fans with a highlight when they connected against East Longmeadow. The connection was good for 80 yards, the longest such play in AA this season.
Central's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Williams threw for 114 and two touchdowns and Smith had 85 yards receiving. On the ground Williams chipped in 94 yards. Travis Cusson helped Central's passing attack out by catching two balls for 29 yards.
Agawam's Mike Vecchiarelli and Greg Carelton have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Vecchiarelli has thrown for 750 yards this season, while Carelton has 17 catches for 369 yards. The Golden Eagles' Aaron Owens leads the league in rushing yards with 299.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Central takes on Longmeadow. The Golden Eagles' offense has racked up 148 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while the Lancers have allowed only 49 on the year.
A big matchup in AA this week will be when Holyoke takes on the Blue Devils. The Knights are in fifth place, while Northampton/Smith Vo-Tech is in first place.
Westfield moved up to 214 from 246 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Bombers climbed the ranks as a result of a 51-14 win over the Brownies.
