The Clinton Prairie Gophers will take on the Fort Wayne Canterbury Cavaliers at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Clinton Prairie is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They skirted past Riverton Parke 8-7. The victory was nothing new for the Gophers as they're now sitting on four straight.

Alex King and Kye Jacobs made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, King pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Jacobs struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. At the plate, King went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run, while Jacobs went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Luke Harshbarger, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Wyatt Harshbarger was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Clinton Prairie kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Fort Wayne Canterbury had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Trojans.
Like Clinton Prairie, Fort Wayne Canterbury also got a great game from a two-way player: JP Rohwer. He struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Rohwer has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.
In other batting news, Reed Hayes was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Fort Wayne Canterbury: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Noah Hayes, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Clinton Prairie's record is now 21-7. As for Fort Wayne Canterbury, their record now sits at 13-8.
