Football Recap: Central Takes Down Ranked Hewitt-Trussville

Central faced Hewitt-Trussville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Red Devils breezed past the Huskies to the tune of 37-0. The Red Devils' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a point in their last three contests.

Central didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Madison Fuller, Colby Cook, Savannah Sevier, and Kalea Lovejoy picked up one apiece. Sevier is also crushing it when it comes to receiving touchdowns: she's hauled in at least two every time she's taken the field this season.

Central's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Hewitt-Trussville, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Central wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 55-0 win against Percy Julian on the 10th. As for Hewitt-Trussville, they will face off against Pell City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give the Huskies their first taste of in-conference action this season.
