Bernalillo had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Moriarty Pintos 10-8. The Spartans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Pintos, too.
Uriel Castro was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Anthony Garcia also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Bernalillo hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Moriarty struck out seven times.
The win got Bernalillo back to even at 5-5. As for Moriarty, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bernalillo will welcome Valencia at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Bernalillo has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Moriarty, they will host East Mountain at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
