The Lincoln Lutheran Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 55-32 walloping at the hands of Bishop Neumann. While losing is never fun, Lincoln Lutheran can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while Bishop Neumann is ranked 12th).
Despite the loss, Lincoln Lutheran still got an impressive performance from Jenna Luebbe, who scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Luebbe has scored all season. Sophie Wohlgemuth was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Lincoln Lutheran's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-14. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.7 points per game. As for Bishop Neumann, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln Lutheran will challenge Aquinas at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Bishop Neumann will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Logan View/Scribner-Snyder at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
