The Osceola Kowboys will challenge the Okeechobee Brahmans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Osceola will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Osceola is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Geneva 18-2 on Thursday.
Milanys Lopez made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Lopez was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Samanthalea Edwards and Yeidy Rosa did most of the damage at the plate: Edwards went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Rosa got on base in four of her five plate appearances with five runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most RBI Edwards has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Tenley Dawson, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Osceola always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Okeechobee came up short against South Fork on Thursday, falling 9-1. The Brahmans haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
Okeechobee saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Haylee Pendrey, who went 1-for-4 with one triple.
Okeechobee now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Osceola, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Osceola's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's matchup. The Kowboys have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Okeechobee, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Osceola continue to outrun the ball?
Osceola beat Okeechobee 3-0 in their previous matchup back in April of 2019. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Kowboys since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
