The Dobie Longhorns will challenge the Manvel Mavericks at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dobie is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
Dobie barely beat Alvin the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Longhorns' pitcher stepped up to hand the Yellowjackets a 10-0 shutout on Thursday. Considering the Longhorns have won 11 games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Juelz Martinez was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. He has become a key player for Dobie: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 7-11 otherwise. Willard Joiner III was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Dobie kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Manvel didn't have quite enough to beat Dawson on Thursday and fell 3-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Mavericks in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.
Jesus Merlo was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.
At the plate, Manvel saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Tuiasosopo, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
Dobie's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-11. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Manvel, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.
Dobie took their victory against Manvel in their previous matchup back in April of 2016 by a conclusive 16-0 score. Will the Longhorns repeat their success, or do the Mavericks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
