The Prosper Eagles will face off against the North Crowley Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Prosper walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Wildcats on Friday as they made off with a 44-24 win. Winning may never get old, but Prosper sure are getting used to it with their ninth in a row.
Nathan Tenbarge was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 157 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Bryce Robinson was another key contributor, rushing for 64 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.
Meanwhile, North Crowley put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Permian on the road to the tune of 63-10. Given North Crowley's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked sixth, while Permian is ranked 107th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Chris Jimerson, who threw for 205 yards and four touchdowns on only 18 passes, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. Jimerson is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Dekoryian West-davis, who picked up 131 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Prosper to 11-1 and Lake Highlands to 9-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's game: Prosper has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 253.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like North Crowley struggles in that department as they've been even better at 311.8 per game. It's looking like Friday's match might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Prosper strolled past North Crowley in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 by a score of 35-21. Does Prosper have another victory up their sleeve, or will North Crowley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
