Columbus East had a rough outing against Columbus North last Friday, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Columbus East were fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Seymour 42-6. That result is just more of the same for Columbus East, who also won the last time these teams played.
Columbus East's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 35 points in the first half. Meanwhile, Seymour couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 35-0 heading into the break. The other side of the ball continued to do well for Columbus East in the second half and held Seymour to 6 points. The game pushed Seymour down to 2-0 and pulled Columbus East up to the reverse 0-2.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Columbus East will look to defend their home turf next week against Jennings County at 7:00 PM. Columbus East continues their travels as they hit the road for the second straight contest. As for Seymour, they will face off against Floyd Central.
