It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Valley View Blazers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 38-14 margin over Maumelle. Winning may never get old, but Valley View sure are getting used to it with their tenth in a row.
Carson Turley went supernova for Valley View, rushing for 113 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries, while also throwing for 171 yards and two touchdowns. Turley hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Tj Starks, who picked up 113 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Valley View's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.2 points per game. As for Maumelle, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
Valley View will play host again and welcome Shiloh Christian, where kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Shiloh Christian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Maumelle does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
