Basketball Game Preview: American Leadership Academy Eagles vs. Waterford Ravens

American Leadership Academy is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Waterford is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the American Leadership Academy Eagles duke it out with the Waterford Ravens at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. American Leadership Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Waterford likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, American Leadership Academy blew past St. Joseph, posting a 77-32 victory. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 21 points or more this season.

American Leadership Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kobe Ross, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 17 points in addition to seven assists and three steals. Those 17 points gave Ross a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kannon Huntsman, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Waterford's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Rowland Hall by a score of 45-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Ravens have suffered since December 6, 2024.

American Leadership Academy's win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Waterford, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-6.

American Leadership Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Waterford in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 49-40. Does American Leadership Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Waterford turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
