La Vega extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping them up to 6-2. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 31-27 W against the Robinson Rockets. As for Robinson, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-2. The contest marked their lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.
Robinson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brice McCurdy, who threw for 164 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 44 yards. Evan Moreno was another key player, rushing for 141 yards.
