Meanwhile, Glenwood entered their tilt with Pleasant Plains on Monday with 11 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 12. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Cardinals. Considering the Titans have won 13 games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Irie Lohrenz made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Lohrenz was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Hope Gilmore was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ava Bobb, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
Glenwood lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their home run total in three consecutive matches.
Glenwood's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Decatur Eisenhower, their loss dropped their record down to 2-16.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Decatur Eisenhower has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Glenwood struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
