Basketball Recap: Elijah Mcfadgen Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Westminster Christian Academy

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Augusta Prep Day ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They walked away with a 60-50 win over the Westminster Christian Academy Lions. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 54-16 back in January.

Augusta Prep Day got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Elijah McFadgen out in front who posted 20 points. The match was McFadgen's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Conar Harris, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

Westminster Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Asa Morecraft, who went 5 for 9 en route to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Townsend, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.

Augusta Prep Day pushed their record up to 15-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for Westminster Christian Academy, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-9.

When Augusta Prep Day and Westminster Christian Academy next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Augusta Prep Day will try to stop Briarwood Academy's four-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Augusta Prep Day is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.8 points per game this season. Similarly, Westminster Christian Academy will take on Victory Baptist and their three-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
