Pearl River put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season on Friday. They put the hurt on Pine with a sharp 42-18 victory. Pine can consider this payback for the 29-42 defeat they dealt Pearl River the last time the teams encountered one another.
Pearl River's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 21 points in the first half. Pine put up 12, so the score was 21-12 at the half. The other side of the ball was dominant for Pearl River in the second half, holding Pine to a measly 6 points. The win bumped Pearl River's record up to 3-0. The loss dropped Pine's record to 2-1.
Next week Pearl River take on Riverdale at 7:00 PM. Pearl River have bulldozed their previous three opponents, so Riverdale might have their hands full. As for Pine, they will face off against St. Helena College and Career Academy.
