The numbers might not have changed much, but the postseason is here and brought about plenty of gameday action in the power rankings this week. We'll dive into that and more in this week's report.
Can't Touch This
Picayune got a 55 - 8 win over Natchez last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Jortin Raine. Raine ran for 250 yards and also punched in three touchdowns. That performance made Raine one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
This Week's Big Showdown
The clash of the power ranking titans last week was between St. Augustine (11th in the power rankings) and Holy Cross (16th). St. Augustine got a somewhat close 34 - 30 victory over Holy Cross. Despite the outcome, neither team improved or gave up its position in the power rankings.
No Stoppin 'Em
The Lakeshore offense has been a force to be reckoned with this season, and last week was no different. It took its game against DeRidder by a confident 45 - 21 score. Lakeshore was heavily favored coming into this contest, and the results showcase why. The combined 66 points was the most of any game featuring a power-ranked team.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Brother Martin (7th in the power rankings) and Archbishop Rummel (4th). The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games. Only one team will win this week, so we'll find out on Friday which team fails to repeat its success.
