Columbus has not had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Columbus' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ellie Helms, who scored nine points along with two steals, and Ava Harman who scored three points. Helms has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Columbus struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Columbus' defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7. As for St. Mary's-Colgan, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 16-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbus will take on the Golden Tornado at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Kansas (Field Kindley is ranked 183rd, while the Titans are ranked 197th). As for St. Mary's-Colgan, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rams on Tuesday.
