Softball Recap: Daniel Gets the Win

Daniel won the last time they faced West-Oak and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Lions sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 victory over the Warriors. That's two games straight that the Lions have won by just one run.

The team relied heavily on Maddie Iams, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Madeline McAlister, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Iams wasn't the only one making solid contact: Daniel kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in five consecutive matchups.

Daniel's record is now 8-9. As for West-Oak, their loss dropped their record down to 7-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Daniel will face off against Seneca at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West-Oak, they will take on Belton-Honea Path at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
