After flying high against the Bangs Dragons two weeks ago, The Goldthwaite Eagles came back down to earth. Goldthwaite fell to San Saba 40-35. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
When it comes to explaining why Goldthwaite lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Luke Sanderson. Despite the final result, he picked up 94 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in three touchdowns on the ground. Ethan Deeds was another key contributor, throwing for 105 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.
It was another big night for Ethan Gonzales, who rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry.
Goldthwaite's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for San Saba, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
