Brodhead is a perfect 4-0 against Columbus since May of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Brodhead will look to defend their home field against Columbus at 5:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Brodhead's favor as the team sits on eight straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Columbus has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

Brodhead's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Edgerton with a sharp 13-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Crimson Tide: they've now won six in a row.

Ava Risum made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-4. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Leah Rear was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Mady Henning, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Brodhead lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Columbus lost 12-2 to Poynette on Thursday.

Columbus' defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Brodhead, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Brodhead beat Columbus 4-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Does Brodhead have another victory up their sleeve, or will Columbus turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
