If the Onteora Eagles were riding high off their 56-31 takedown of the Pine Plains Bombers on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Onteora was beaten by Ellenville 93-46 on Saturday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Onteora in their matchups with Ellenville: they've now lost seven in a row.
Jason Kinscy continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Ellenville, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 12 assists. It was the first time this season that Kinscy posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Alen Ibric, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.
Onteora's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Ellenville, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 12-1.
Onteora will head out on the road to square off against Mount Academy at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Mount Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Friday. As for Ellenville, they will be playing at home against Millbrook at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Ellenville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven contests -- so hopefully Millbrook likes a good challenge.
