Nansemond-Suffolk Academy took down Greenbrier Christian Academy 50-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. David Gough ran for 100 yards and caught 2 passes for 22 yards in the win.
The Saints' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jackson DeMello threw for 98 and 1 touchdown and John Mobley had 57 yards receiving. On the ground Gough chipped in 100 yards. Gough helped Nansemond-Suffolk Academy's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 22 yards.
Nansemond-Suffolk Academy's dynamic duo of DeMello and Mobley proved tough for the Gators to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Hampton Roads Academy's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Navigators feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Duncan Wingfield has thrown for 868 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, while Trey Critides has 22 catches for 656 yards.
Lew Johnston's team's Gough needs only 77 yards against Trinity Episcopal next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Gough has rushed for 923 yards on 97 carries so far this year.
An important game coming up in VISFA Tidewater this week will be when Hampton Roads Academy takes on Bishop Sullivan Catholic. The Navigators are currently in fourth, while the Crusaders are in first.
Norfolk Academy led the league in scoring this week by notching 50 points on Portsmouth Christian.
