Baseball Recap: Draughn Finds Playoff Glory Versus Gray Stone Day

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Draughn had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Gray Stone Day Knights as they made off with an 11-1 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

Tate Jensen spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Draughn got a massive performance out of Jacob Mull, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Gage Dula, who went 1-for-2 with four stolen bases and two runs.

Draughn is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Gray Stone Day, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-13.

Draughn didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-1 win against Highland Tech on the 9th. Gray Stone Day does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
