The Ingalls Bulldogs had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They managed a 41-35 victory over Pawnee Heights. This was payback for Ingalls, who suffered a 47-41 loss the last time these two teams met.
Ingalls' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elly Jo Tancayo, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Tancayo hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Tessa Irsik, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Ingalls has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Pawnee Heights, they dropped their record down to 6-11 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Ingalls will be playing in front of their home fans against Kiowa County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Ingalls focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday. As for Pawnee Heights, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 51-33 loss vs. Hodgeman County on the 12th.
