Century is on a four-game streak of home losses, McMinnville a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Century Jaguars will take on the McMinnville Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Century lost to Newberg on the road by a decisive 42-27 margin.
Despite their defeat, Century saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jonny Ellis, who threw for 210 yards and two touchdowns, was perhaps the best of all.
Meanwhile, McMinnville was the victim of a rough 35-14 loss at the hands of Liberty on Friday.
Even if they lost, McMinnville's defensive line sure didn't make it easy: Liberty's QB was sacked three times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Landon Fay and his two sacks.
Century's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for McMinnville, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
Century didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against McMinnville in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, but they still walked away with a 26-22 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was McMinnville's Austin Rapp rb# 4 class 2023, who rushed for 162 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Century to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
