The Turpin Cardinals were the 60-41 winner over the Mooreland Bearcats when they last played one another last Saturday, but their luck changed this time around. Turpin took a 59-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bearcats. Turpin has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Turpin's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryson Parker, who scored 19 points along with four steals. Parker is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games he's played. Jhett Huffman was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Turpin's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Mooreland, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
Turpin won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Tigers at 8:00 p.m. on January 26th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Oklahoma (Laverne is ranked 213th, while the Cardinals are ranked 195th). Mooreland will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on January 26th. One thing working in Watonga's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games.
