Dalton has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. The Dalton Catamounts and the Calhoun Yellow Jackets will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Dalton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Dalton strolled past Rome with points to spare, taking the game 59-44.
It was another big night for Kobi Cooper, who scored 18 points along with six steals and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Jermichael Craft was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Calhoun's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 71-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hiram. While losing is never fun, Calhoun can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 347th, while Hiram is ranked 103rd).
Dalton's victory bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Calhoun, they bumped their record down to 6-10 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Dalton came up short against Calhoun in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 68-64. Can Dalton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
