The Kohler Blue Bombers put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They rang in the new year with a 72-63 win over Milwaukee Juneau. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Kohler has scored all year.
Milwaukee Juneau's loss came despite strong showings from Dooney Johnson and Takis Tyler. Johnson scored 26 points along with seven steals and five rebounds, while Tyler scored 27 points. Johnson scored a full 41.3% of Milwaukee Juneau's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kiyun Robinson, who scored four points along with six rebounds.
Kohler's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-0. As for Milwaukee Juneau, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-2.
Kohler will head out on the road to face off against Random Lake at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Milwaukee Juneau, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Milwaukee Reagan at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Milwaukee Reagan will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings (they are ranked 251st, while Milwaukee Juneau is ranked 85th).
